Extreme Vineyards are the special projects of Santiago Deicas, Winemaker of the Familia Deicas winery. This wine, Subsuelo Corte Único Tannat Merlot 2021, comes from the Pueblo Garzón area in Maldonado. There, Familia Deicas removed the surface of the soil and planted the vineyard directly on lime and clay, without support from fertile soil. These conditions stress the plant, push the vine to the limit of survival and the result is exceptional wines. A wine with an intense color with a violet hue. On the nose it presents notes of fresh flowers, cherries, blackberries, aromatic herbs and a touch of citrus. On the palate it is intense, with a good balance of acidity and tannins, where freshness stands out and a very elegant wood appears. It is a wine with a lot of energy.
